CYBERSECURITY | SailPoint launches unified identity security platform for AI identities
The launch comes as organizations expand their use of AI-driven workflows while facing growing identity-related security risks.
Organizations are struggling to secure the growing number of AI agents and machine identities in enterprise environments, prompting identity security company SailPoint to introduce a unified platform designed to manage both human and non-human identities.
SailPoint announced the general availability of its Identity Security solution, which combines its new Agentic Fabric with Human Fabric, an evolution of its Identity Security Cloud platform. The company said the integrated platform provides continuous discovery, governance and protection for human users, machine accounts and AI agents across enterprise environments.
The launch comes as organizations expand their use of AI-driven workflows while facing growing identity-related security risks. Citing its own research, SailPoint said 97% of AI agents have access to sensitive data, while only 21% of organizations are highly confident in their ability to manage AI agent security risks.
“SailPoint Identity Security represents a fundamental shift in how organizations must neutralize identity vulnerabilities in an AI-driven world,” said Chandra Gnanasambandam, executive vice president of product and chief technology officer at SailPoint. “We are moving the industry beyond static compliance and into an active, continuous security loop.”
Human Fabric introduces continuous identity governance by automatically detecting excessive privileges, integrating identity data into security operations center (SOC) workflows and supporting Just-In-Time Provisioning (JIT-P), which grants administrative access only for the duration of a specific task.
Agentic Fabric, now generally available as a standalone product and as part of the Identity Security solution, is designed to secure AI agents and machine identities. SailPoint said it uses endpoint and browser sensors to discover AI agents, credentials and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers that may not be detected by conventional security tools. The platform also includes prompt filtering to prevent personally identifiable information (PII) from being sent to large language models (LLMs), a centralized mechanism to disable compromised AI agents, and automated ownership policies for machine accounts.
The company said the Identity Security solution is powered by its Atlas platform, which provides real-time visibility, governance and automated remediation across both human and non-human identities.
SailPoint added that consulting and cybersecurity partners, including KPMG Canada, are supporting customer deployments of the platform to help organizations govern AI-powered digital workforces while maintaining security and regulatory compliance.
