Mobile messaging app interactions in the Philippines rose 139%, with Viber remaining the country’s dominant messaging platform, according to the report.
Viber interactions in the Philippines increased 47% in 2025 as businesses expanded their use of mobile messaging and other digital channels, according to Infobip’s Messaging Trends Report 2026.
The report analyzed 628 billion mobile interactions recorded in 2025 and a 20-year historical dataset covering 3.8 trillion messages. Across Infobip’s platform in the Philippines, total interactions increased 19% year over year.
Mobile messaging app interactions in the Philippines rose 139%, with Viber remaining the country’s dominant messaging platform, according to the report.
WhatsApp recorded a 1,416% increase, indicating its expanding use in business communications. SMS interactions increased 14%, while MMS and email grew 15% and 5%, respectively. Other chat apps recorded a 1,014% increase.
“The Philippines has always been a mobile-first market, and what we’re seeing now is the next evolution of that. Filipino consumers want to have conversations with brands. The data shows that businesses here are beginning to recognize this shift and are investing in AI-powered omnichannel engagement strategies that go well beyond traditional channels like SMS and Email,” said Guray Ozturk, head of customer growth APAC at Infobip.
“Viber’s growth is particularly significant. It remains the dominant messaging platform in the Philippines, and the brands that are leveraging it intelligently through personalized, timely, and relevant messages are seeing real results in customer loyalty and engagement,” he added.
The report also pointed to a broader shift toward multichannel customer communications, with Rich Communication Services gaining ground and single-channel communication becoming less viable for businesses.
Infobip also highlighted agentic AI, in which AI agents can conduct autonomous, goal-driven interactions across multiple channels.
The company said its AgentOS platform combines AI agents, data, communication channels and customer intent to determine the next step in an interaction. The platform can operate across SMS, RCS, email, WhatsApp and voice, while adjusting content, channel and timing based on customer context.
