TELECOM | Smart adds annual roaming data to Infinity plans

Smart Communications has introduced ROAM+, an annual roaming data allocation for its Infinity postpaid plans that provides subscribers with up to 40GB of international mobile data for use across multiple trips within a 365-day contract year.
The roaming data is credited at the start of the subscriber’s contract year. Infinity members can retain their primary Smart number, manage their connectivity through a single bill and check their remaining ROAM+ balance through the Smart App, the company said.

Smart said the annual allocation removes the need for subscribers to arrange a separate roaming package before each overseas trip.

With ROAM+, Infinity Plans just got better, giving our members added convenience and a more seamless connectivity experience that is ready before the journey, throughout the trip, and for the next one,” said Tina Montinola, head of Smart Infinity.
“ROAM+ represents a shift in how premium roaming can be designed, that is, from a service that customers arrange for individual trips into an annual roaming wallet that is ready whenever they need it. It reflects our commitment to continuously raise the standard of the Infinity experience, giving our members greater freedom to travel with fewer connectivity decisions along the way,” said Lloyd R. Manaloto, first vice president and OIC of Smart.
The company said the service can support travel-related activities such as using maps and tourist information, booking accommodations and transportation, discovering attractions, translating languages and staying connected with family, friends and colleagues.
ROAM+ is offered as part of the Smart Infinity service, which also includes worldwide concierge services, complimentary airport lounge access, access to the Infinity Collection, dedicated relationship manager support and 24/7 priority assistance at Smart stores.
