Bentley Systems has announced the finalists for its 2026 Year in Infrastructure (YII) Awards, recognizing 36 infrastructure projects from around the world for their use of digital twins, artificial intelligence and connected data.
The finalists were selected from more than 300 submissions representing 53 countries and span 12 categories covering the infrastructure lifecycle, including construction, transportation, energy, geospatial modeling, structural engineering, subsurface analysis and water infrastructure.
According to Bentley, 24 of the 36 finalist projects reported using AI in some form, while 22 showed strong or supporting evidence of a connected digital foundation.
“This year’s finalists show how infrastructure is moving from disconnected files, manual workflows, and periodic inspections to connected information, intelligent automation, and continuous insight,” said Cate Lochead, chief marketing officer at Bentley Systems.
The projects demonstrate applications ranging from tunnel and railway design to flood protection, landslide risk assessment, renewable energy and water distribution.
Two Philippine projects made the finalist list.
Aboitiz Renewables Inc. was named a finalist in the Geospatial and Reality Modeling category for GeoShield, a project that uses geospatial intelligence to predict landslide risk.
QB Engineering & Construction was also selected in the Structural Engineering category for its project involving the digital reconstruction of Our Lady of Light Parish Church in Loon, a historic landmark in the Philippines.
The other categories are Bridges and Tunnels; Cities and Facilities; Construction; Energy Production; Project Delivery; Rail and Transit; Roads and Highways; Subsurface Modeling and Analysis; Transmission and Distribution; and Water and Wastewater.
The finalists include projects involving major infrastructure developments such as the Hinkley Point C project in the United Kingdom, the Talmadge Memorial Bridge in the United States, the Jakarta International Stadium in Indonesia and Changi Airport Terminal 5 in Singapore.
The YII Awards have been held for more than two decades to recognize infrastructure professionals and their use of Bentley software in designing, building and operating infrastructure.
The finalists will present their projects during Bentley’s Year in Infrastructure event at the Fairmont Singapore on Oct. 6-7. The presentations will cover the engineering challenges, project execution, digital methods and results associated with the projects.
Bentley will also present Founders’ Honors to selected projects. The awards are chosen by Bentley’s founders and executives and recognize projects that reflect the company’s purpose of advancing infrastructure for better quality of life.
