FINTECH | Billease gets P1-billion credit facility from PNB
Customer repayments tied to the PNB facility will also follow a defined payment priority, with the PNB facility receiving payments first.

Billease has secured a P1-billion credit facility from Philippine National Bank (PNB), expanding the consumer finance platform’s local funding base as it grows its lending business.
The facility, signed Aug. 20, uses the Personal Property Security Registry (PPSR), allowing PNB to hold a registered first-rank claim over a pool of Billease consumer loan receivables.
AlphaPrimus Advisors served as transaction adviser for the facility.
The PPSR was established under the Personal Property Security Act, or Republic Act 11057, as a centralized registry for security interests over movable assets. In the Billease facility, the arrangement gives PNB a secured interest in consumer loan receivables.
The facility is structured with collateral exceeding the amount borrowed. Billease will regularly refresh the loan pool by replacing repaid or delinquent loans with new receivables.
Customer repayments tied to the PNB facility will also follow a defined payment priority, with the PNB facility receiving payments first.
PNB Executive Vice President and Head of Institutional Banking Sector Roberto Fo. Abastillas said the bank was confident in Billease’s portfolio based on its performance across different market cycles.
“Billease has demonstrated strong portfolio quality across different market cycles. This track record gave us confidence to establish this relationship at a meaningful scale. We see this as the beginning of a broader partnership and look forward to exploring additional opportunities to work together,” Abastillas said.
The facility comes as Billease reports continued growth and profitability. Based on its fiscal 2025 audited financial statements, the company said revenue increased more than 80% to P8.7 billion, while net profit reached P782 million, marking its third consecutive year of profitability.
Its gross loan book increased more than 77% to about P12.5 billion, while total assets reached P13.7 billion. The company said it now onboards more than 200,000 new customers and disburses more than P5 billion monthly.
As of Dec. 31, 2025, Billease had about P6.4 billion in consolidated equity against P7.1 billion in total borrowings, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of roughly 1-to-1.
The PNB facility forms part of Billease’s strategy to increase funding from local lenders while maintaining relationships with international financing partners.
The company said the move also follows its entry into banking through the acquisition of a rural bank. The expansion is expected to allow Billease to offer additional financial products, including savings and deposits, while improving its funding profile and cost of capital.
“We are deliberately expanding our local funding base here at home, with the country’s leading banks, because that allows us to keep serving more Filipinos with affordable, responsible credit. PNB coming on board is a strong signal, it says the largest institutions in the market are ready to fund this kind of lending when it is done with discipline. We have built a profitable business that scales without compromising on underwriting standards, and relationships like this let us fund that growth locally, on improving terms,” said Georg Steiger, co-founder and CEO of Billease.
Billease Chief Financial Officer Garret Go said the company’s funding relationships are based on its operating track record.
“The strongest funding relationships are built on transparency and track record, not promises,” Go said.
