ENTERTAINMENT | Eurovision Asia to hold inaugural Grand Final in Bangkok
As official travel partner, Agoda also plans fan-focused activities, including a social media collaboration with influencers from different Asian markets and a hospitality venue during the Bangkok Grand Final.
Eurovision Song Contest Asia will hold its inaugural Grand Final in Bangkok on Nov. 14, with artists from across the region competing as national representatives in the new Asian edition of the international music competition.
Global entertainment production company Voxovation is organizing the event, which will feature artists selected through National Finals or national representative processes in participating markets. The Grand Final will be broadcast live across the region.
Agoda has been named the competition’s Official Travel Partner. The travel platform will be integrated into National Finals and Grand Final broadcasts through host mentions, sponsored editorial content and promotional segments in participating markets.
Agoda also plans fan-focused activities, including a social media collaboration with influencers from different Asian markets and a hospitality venue during the Bangkok Grand Final.
Omri Morgenshtern, chief executive officer of Agoda, said the partnership combines the company’s travel business with the cross-border appeal of music.
“Both music and travel connect people. Agoda is about bridging the world through travel and music is such a unifying bridge, it’s a match made in heaven,” Morgenshtern said.
“As this iconic competition arrives in Asia for the first time, we are proud to help fans across the region not only watch the excitement unfold, but experience it in person by making travel to the Grand Final in Bangkok more accessible than ever,” he added.
The Asian edition follows the format of the Eurovision Song Contest, in which artists represent their respective countries or markets before competing in a televised Grand Final.
The original Eurovision Song Contest was created in 1956 by the European Broadcasting Union and has since grown into one of the world’s most-watched televised music competitions. The Asian edition is being produced with broadcasters across the region, with each broadcaster airing its own National Final or artist announcement program.
Travelers will be able to access Eurovision-themed travel deals through Agoda, although details of the offers have yet to be announced.
Fans can also follow the competition and make travel arrangements for Bangkok through Agoda’s app and website.
Voxovation, founded in 2018, holds the exclusive license from the European Broadcasting Union to expand the Eurovision Song Contest franchise into new international markets, according to the press release.
