BUSINESS TECH | Zyxel launches nine-model switch series for small businesses
The series supports Zyxel’s Nebula cloud management platform, which provides remote configuration, real-time monitoring and centralized management through its core capabilities at no cost.

Zyxel Networks introduced nine Gigabit Smart Managed Switch models designed to simplify network installation and management for small businesses, with options for different power requirements, mounting configurations and network management setups.
The GS1915v2 series includes 8-, 10-, 16- and 24-port models, with Power over Ethernet (PoE) and non-PoE variants. The switches are designed for small offices, shops, cafes and clinics that may have limited space for networking equipment or lack dedicated network rooms.
Six models support PoE, with power budgets ranging from 60 watts to 180 watts. This allows the switches to deliver power and data over a single cable to devices such as IP cameras, Wi-Fi access points and door access systems.
The GS1915-8PDv2 can also receive power through a PoE switch, allowing installation in locations without a nearby power outlet. Fiber uplinks support high-speed connections over longer distances, while fanless and smart-fan designs accommodate environments where noise is a concern.
Mounting options include desktop, wall, rack and DIN rail configurations, allowing businesses to install the equipment in existing spaces without additional building work.
The series supports Zyxel’s Nebula cloud management platform, which provides remote configuration, real-time monitoring and centralized management through its core capabilities at no cost. Businesses can upgrade to advanced management features as their needs grow.
The switches also add enhanced access control list (ACL) and Dynamic VLAN capabilities compared with the previous generation. A redesigned front panel uses simplified icons and a revised LED layout to make device status easier to check.
Zyxel said the series includes changes intended to reduce packaging waste and improve shipping efficiency. Its compact design and optimized packaging allow more units to fit on each pallet, increasing shipping efficiency by up to 198% compared with the previous generation. The company’s calculation is based on comparing the GS1915-8PDv2 with the earlier GS1915-8 and GS1915-8EP models.
A dedicated button also allows users to turn off front-panel LEDs, reducing light disturbance in homes, home offices and other low-light environments.
“Small businesses should not have to redesign their premises just to install reliable networking,” said Gary Chen, emerging markets head at Zyxel Networks.
“The GS1915v2 series gives them more choice over where and how their switches are installed, while keeping management straightforward as their needs change,” Chen said. “For our system integrator and MSP partners, having one portfolio that can cover different customer environments can also simplify procurement, support and staff training.”
The series is intended to serve both small businesses and the system integrators and managed service providers that install and maintain their networks.
Specifications for the GS1915v2 series are available on Zyxel’s official product page.
