MOBILITY | VinFast VF 3 leads Philippine BEV sales with 2,906 units

VinFast’s VF 3 electric mini-SUV ranked as the Philippines’ best-selling battery-electric vehicle (BEV) model from January to August 2026, recording 2,906 units sold, according to a report by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI), the company said.
The sales figure places the compact electric vehicle at the top of the local BEV segment during the eight-month period, as motorists contend with fuel price volatility and explore alternatives to conventional vehicles.
VinFast Philippines attributed the model’s performance partly to its ownership programs, which include a battery subscription policy intended to reduce upfront costs and a residual value guarantee program designed to protect long-term vehicle value.
The company also cited its free charging program, which runs until March 31, 2029, and the expansion of its charging network as factors supporting the vehicle’s appeal to buyers.
Antonio “Toti” Zara, CEO of VinFast Philippines, said the sales milestone reflected growing interest in electric mobility when supported by measures addressing ownership costs and other barriers to adoption.
“Achieving the number one spot is a milestone that demonstrates Filipino drivers’ readiness to embrace electric mobility when backed by an ecosystem that supports their entire journey,” Zara said.
He added that the company plans to continue expanding its support for electric vehicle owners.
VinFast said it is developing its dealership network, charging infrastructure and after-sales services while expanding its vehicle lineup. Its ownership ecosystem also includes the battery subscription and residual value guarantee programs, alongside the V-Green charging network.
The company did not provide a breakdown of the VF 3’s sales by month or disclose the total Philippine BEV market volume for the January-August period in the release.
The sales ranking cited in the announcement covers the first eight months of 2026 and does not establish the model’s full-year position.
