BUSINESS TECH | SoftwareOne completes Crayon channel integration in APAC

SoftwareOne completes Crayon channel integration in APAC

SoftwareOne and Crayon have completed the integration of their channel businesses across Asia-Pacific under the SoftwareOne brand, combining their technology capabilities and partner networks to expand services for resellers and other technology partners.

Announced in Singapore in October 2026, the integration brings together expertise in software asset management, cloud, cybersecurity, data and artificial intelligence (AI), as well as managed and technical services.

The combined operation will give partners access to a wider pool of specialists, including solution architects, security and vendor experts, bid support teams and technical personnel. SoftwareOne said partners could use these resources to pursue more complex customer projects without having to develop every capability internally.

Varun Paliwal, SoftwareOne’s president for APAC, said the integration would build on the existing partner relationships of both companies while expanding the services they could offer.

“This is an important step in bringing together two strong channel businesses with complementary strengths,” Paliwal said. “Crayon and SoftwareOne have both built strong partner relationships and deep technology capabilities across the region. By bringing those strengths together, we can offer partners greater breadth services opportunities, while retaining the local expertise and relationships that make the channel work.”

He said the success of the integration would depend on whether it created more opportunities for partners and helped them respond to customer requirements.

The companies said the combined business would support partners through services delivered under their own brands or through joint engagements with SoftwareOne. Partners would retain ownership of their customer relationships, while gaining access to additional technical and advisory resources.

The integration comes as businesses face increasingly interconnected requirements involving cloud, software, cybersecurity, data and AI.

International Data Corp. (IDC) estimates that information and communications technology spending in Asia-Pacific will reach $647 billion in 2026. Spending on AI and generative AI is projected to reach $370 billion by 2029, representing a compound annual growth rate of 38.4%, according to figures cited in the announcement.

SoftwareOne said the expanded channel operation would help partners respond to these demands through access to specialist expertise, vendor programs, certifications and practice development.

Its Partner Connections program links resellers with specialist delivery partners, while its ISV Innovation Hub helps partners commercialize their intellectual property through vendor marketplaces, incentives and development support.

The combined business will also continue to offer Cloud-iQ, a platform for managing cloud and software subscriptions. Its functions include subscription management, automated billing, usage intelligence and business insights.

SoftwareOne operates in more than 70 countries and has around 12,000 professionals, with access to more than 7,500 software vendors through its global marketplace.

Vikas Bhonsle, head of channel for APAC, said the integration should give partners more resources to expand their service portfolios and pursue new business.

“The most important thing is that the combination creates more possibilities for our partners. We can bring more expertise into their opportunities, more services into their portfolio and more connections into their ecosystem,” Bhonsle said.

“If our partners are able to grow, win new opportunities and deliver more value to their customers, then the combination is doing what we intended it to do.”
