Cloudflare Inc. and Wiz, a cloud and AI security firm under Google Cloud, on April 16 announced a partnership to integrate tools aimed at securing artificial intelligence applications and addressing risks linked to “shadow AI.”
The collaboration seeks to provide organizations with a unified system to detect, map and mitigate vulnerabilities in AI-powered applications, which are increasingly deployed faster than security teams can monitor.
The companies said the integration combines Cloudflare’s AI security tools with Wiz’s security graph platform to give enterprises visibility into their AI infrastructure, including large language model endpoints across web environments.
As businesses expand the use of AI tools such as chatbots and automated search systems, security risks have also grown, including prompt injection attacks, unauthorized data exposure and misuse of AI systems.
The partnership aims to address these risks by enabling real-time inspection of AI traffic, mapping of data flows and identification of security gaps. The system also prioritizes vulnerabilities based on potential impact, allowing organizations to focus on higher-risk exposures.
“AI is the most transformative technology we’ve seen in a generation,” said Tom Evans, chief partner officer at Cloudflare. “When talking with CISOs today, they are struggling with the balance of being an enabler of innovation with AI, while combating uncontrolled shadow AI across their organization.”
Oron Noah, vice president of product at Wiz, said the integration is intended to improve visibility and control over AI deployments.
“By combining Wiz’s end-to-end visibility with Cloudflare’s edge protections, we close a critical gap in how AI risk is managed,” Noah said.
The companies said the integrated system can detect unregistered AI deployments, monitor interactions with sensitive data and verify whether security protections are properly configured.
The tools are designed to operate without requiring additional infrastructure changes, with detection systems running across Cloudflare’s network to analyze AI-related traffic.
The partnership comes as organizations continue to adopt AI technologies across operations, increasing the need for security frameworks that can keep pace with deployment.
