BUSINESS | 2GO expands Mindanao logistics, travel links

2GO Group Inc. is expanding its logistics and passenger transport operations in Mindanao as the region seeks to strengthen trade, tourism and other economic activities.
The company outlined its network and services during the 35th Mindanao Business Conference in Cagayan de Oro City on Aug. 12, where 2GO Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer William Howell discussed connectivity as a factor in supporting the region’s economic growth.
Howell said Mindanao’s role in agriculture and fisheries, energy, manufacturing, mining, exports and tourism could be further supported by improving connections between producers, businesses, markets and communities.
“Connectivity is not merely about moving goods and passengers. It is about enabling commerce, expanding access, attracting investments, and strengthening communities,” Howell said.
2GO’s Forwarding network has 93 distribution hubs and warehouses nationwide, including 18 in Mindanao. The company said its Mindanao operations handle about 1.5 million packages, or 150,000 transactions, annually.
Through 2GO Sea Solutions, the company serves ports in Cagayan de Oro, Ozamiz, Butuan, Dipolog, Davao, General Santos and Zamboanga. These ports form part of 2GO’s 20-port network nationwide.
The company transported 2.5 million metric tons of cargo to, from and within Mindanao in 2025, according to the company.
2GO also provides specialized logistics services for industries in the region, including project logistics, cold-chain services for agricultural and food products, e-commerce logistics and cross-docking.
Passenger connectivity is provided through 2GO Travel, which operates 36 active passenger routes nationwide, including 18 with a Mindanao connection. The company said its network supports 37 weekly voyages linking Mindanao with Luzon and the Visayas.
These services connect businesses and communities to markets, employment, tourism and other economic opportunities, 2GO said.
The company participated in the Mindanao Business Conference as part of its engagement with government agencies, chambers of commerce and business groups in the region.
Earlier this year, 2GO, the Mindanao Development Authority and the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. brought together regional industry leaders to discuss logistics challenges and opportunities to improve supply-chain connectivity across Mindanao.
The conference, held Aug. 11 to 13, carried the theme “Accelerating Inclusive Growth through Innovation and Sustainability: Bridging the Gap, Scaling the Future.” Its sessions covered economic strategic foresight, connectivity and resilience, smart industrial development, energy transition, digital infrastructure, trade, climate-smart business, tourism and financing for micro, small and medium enterprises.
2GO said its integrated sea freight, forwarding, logistics and passenger travel services are intended to support the movement of goods and people between Mindanao and other parts of the Philippines.
