BUSINESS TECH | Alibaba expands QwenWork AI agent to global markets

Alibaba has expanded its QwenWork workplace AI agent to international markets, launching a public beta aimed at businesses and individual users across Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.
QwenWork International is available through the web and desktop client, with English and simplified Chinese interfaces initially. Traditional Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and other languages are planned for later releases, according to Alibaba.
The platform combines capabilities from Alibaba’s QoderWork, MuleRun and Wukong AI agent platforms. Users can describe tasks in natural language, after which the agent can navigate websites, operate a local computer and coordinate multi-step tasks with user authorization.
The desktop version includes an opt-in Awareness feature that carries user preferences and previous context across sessions. Users can define working preferences and collaboration styles, while completed workflows can be saved as reusable skills.
QwenWork International also includes web development, document generation, deep research, voice input, file comprehension, browser automation, cloud-based scheduling and authorized local file operations on desktop devices.
Its web development tools can generate and deploy websites with hosting, database services and custom domain support. The platform also supports native generation of images, video and audio.
Alibaba is offering QwenWork International through subscriptions and a credit system, with separate plans for individual and enterprise users. Users can choose between Standard and Advanced model tiers based on the complexity of their tasks.
The Standard mode includes Alibaba’s Qwen3.8 Flash model. The company said the model uses 75% fewer tokens per task and generates responses at roughly twice the speed of the current mode.
For enterprises, QwenWork International supports registration using Google accounts or email. Alibaba said it plans to integrate the platform with widely used enterprise tools through its connector framework.
The international service also uses Alibaba Cloud’s global sales and service network and infrastructure to support enterprise customers across markets.
Alibaba first launched QwenWork as a public beta in China in early August. The company said the platform was ranked the top workplace AI agent in a proprietary evaluation by New York-based investment bank Jefferies on Aug. 17, outperforming seven other global AI agents.
Alibaba said it plans to expand QwenWork’s international market presence, add integrations with productivity tools and introduce capabilities for more workplace scenarios.
