Tencent has brought its Beyond the Screen: Healthy Digital Play initiative to Thailand through a partnership with Saturday School Foundation, promoting responsible gaming and the use of digital play for family engagement and youth development.
The initiative was launched at Thailand Knowledge Park in CentralWorld, Bangkok, bringing together children, parents, educators, psychologists, public-sector representatives and community organizations.
The event featured panel discussions, a gaming and psychology workshop, shared gameplay challenges and interactive family activities designed to encourage conversations about digital habits and healthier approaches to gaming.
Tencent said the Thailand program combines its regional framework with local community insights from Saturday School Foundation to develop activities suited to the needs of families in the country.
“By combining Tencent’s regional framework with Thai community insights from Saturday School Foundation on participatory learning, we can reach families through activities that are practical, relevant, and grounded in the local context,” said Monrawee Ampolpittayanant, head of public policy for APAC at Tencent.
“As the ‘Beyond the Screen’ campaign expands across Southeast Asia, the learnings from Thailand will help shape future initiatives that better reflect the needs of families in each market,” Ampolpittayanant added.
The initiative positions digital gaming as an opportunity for shared learning and interaction rather than an activity limited to individual screen time. Its activities are intended to help families better understand digital behavior and encourage healthier relationships with technology.
