Food delivery platform foodpanda Philippines has introduced a new QR-on-Delivery payment feature that allows customers to pay for their orders using QRPH-supported banks and e-wallets upon delivery.
The new option digitizes the traditional cash-on-delivery setup by letting customers scan a QR code presented by riders during delivery. Users can complete payments through QRPH-compliant apps, including GCash and Maya.
According to foodpanda Philippines, the feature is designed to support consumers who still prefer paying only after receiving their orders while gradually adopting digital payment methods. The company said the move also reduces the need for riders to handle cash or prepare change during deliveries.
The rollout aligns with the digital payments push of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, which aims to increase digital retail transactions through the adoption of QRPH, the country’s national QR code standard.
“QR-on-Delivery allows us to bring digital payments closer to everyday transactions, particularly in moments where customers still prefer to pay upon receipt,” said Lhecks De Castro, finance director of foodpanda Philippines. “By integrating QRPH into the delivery experience, we’re supporting the broader push toward a more cash-lite economy, making digital payments more practical and accessible in everyday use.”
foodpanda Philippines said it currently operates in 192 cities and municipalities nationwide and continues to expand its delivery network. The company is part of Delivery Hero, a global food delivery platform.
