East West Banking Corp. has launched Garmin Pay for eligible Visa and Mastercard cardholders, allowing customers to make contactless payments using compatible Garmin smartwatches.

The service enables EastWest customers to link eligible Visa debit and credit cards, as well as Mastercard credit cards, to Garmin wearable devices. Users can store multiple cards and select which one to use for purchases at contactless payment terminals in the Philippines and overseas.

Garmin Pay expands EastWest’s digital payment offerings alongside EastWest Pay and Google Pay, providing customers with additional options for contactless transactions using mobile devices and wearables.

“At EastWest, we are focused on making everyday moments simpler and more seamless for our customers,” said Norman Martin C. Reyes, EastWest senior vice president and head of Bank Marketing and Cash Management. “Whether you’re biking, running, grabbing a quick coffee, or heading out for an errand, you can leave your wallet and phone behind—just tap your watch and you’re done. It’s one less thing to carry, and one less thing to worry about.”

The bank said Garmin Pay uses tokenized payment credentials to help protect card information during transactions. Payments can be made anywhere contactless card payments are accepted.

“How Filipinos pay continues to evolve, with customers expecting solutions that are fast, flexible, and easy,” said EastWest CEO Jerry Ngo. “By enabling both Mastercard and Visa credit and debit cards on our digital payment solutions, we are giving our customers greater control and convenience, while continuing to make banking easier and more relevant to their everyday lives.”

Garmin smartwatches are widely used for GPS navigation, fitness tracking and health monitoring. EastWest said Garmin Pay is now available to customers with eligible Visa and Mastercard cards using compatible Garmin wearable devices.
