More than 88,000 buyers from 155 countries and regions attended InnoEX and the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition), which concluded April 16, organizers said, highlighting growing global interest in artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics applications.

The four-day exhibitions, jointly organized by Hong Kong’s Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), brought together companies, researchers and buyers across key technology sectors. Major source markets included mainland China, Japan, India, the United States and South Korea.

Organizers said the events focused on emerging technologies aligned with China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and Hong Kong’s innovation policies, particularly AI-driven applications. A new RoboPark zone featured more than 100 robots from companies across Hong Kong, mainland China and overseas, demonstrating use cases in multiple industries.

InnoEX showcased developments in five areas: AI+, robotics, the low-altitude economy, property technology and retail technology. Exhibitors from 21 countries and regions participated, including pavilions from the United Kingdom and Macao. Organizers reported strong business activity, with Macao exhibitors holding more than 280 meetings in the first three days.

Major technology firms, including Huawei, China Mobile Hong Kong, HKT and Lenovo, joined universities and research institutions at the event. Huawei also held its Hong Kong Tech Week 2026 alongside the exhibition, hosting forums on AI applications across industries.

Delegations from mainland China covered 17 provinces and municipalities. A Beijing-based innovation center said its participating companies, focused on AI, robotics and chip development, drew interest from buyers across Europe, Asia and the Middle East on the first day.

The Electronics Fair highlighted smart home products, health technology and pet-related devices, with about 60 new products launched. Exhibitors reported engagement with buyers from Asia, Europe and the Americas, with some companies citing initial deals and expected follow-up orders.

Buyers said the exhibitions provided both sourcing opportunities and insights into market trends. Some reported multiple meetings with exhibitors and identified potential partnerships during the event.

More than 100 events were held alongside the exhibitions, featuring over 260 speakers from industry, academia and government. Sessions focused on AI adoption, workplace applications and emerging sectors such as the low-altitude economy. A separate forum explored the development of autonomous robotics systems and their impact on industries including education and services.

Survey data collected during the fairs showed strong adoption of AI technologies among participants. About 78% of respondents said their companies had explored or adopted generative AI, while 81% expressed interest in expanding into emerging markets such as Europe, ASEAN, mainland China and Latin America.

At InnoEX, respondents cited sales, customer communication and data analysis as leading use cases for generative AI. At the Electronics Fair, 59% expected revenue growth over the next one to two years, and 33% said consumers were willing to pay a premium for smart or AI-enabled products.

Organizers said the results reflect Hong Kong’s role as a regional platform for technology trade and collaboration.
