Vietnamese automaker VinFast has rolled out a nationwide free charging program for its electric vehicle owners in the Philippines, in partnership with charging operator V-GREEN.
The initiative, which runs until May 1, 2027, gives VinFast drivers access to zero-cost charging at all V-GREEN-operated stations across the country. The program applies to all current and future VinFast models sold locally.
The offer targets one of the main concerns for Filipino motorists considering EVs: charging expenses compared with traditional refueling. With fuel prices still volatile, industry watchers say the program could translate into significant long-term savings for families, commuters, and frequent travelers.
V-GREEN, which operates independently, plans to expand its charging network to 15,000 ports by 2025 in malls, expressways, commercial centers, and other high-traffic locations nationwide. Under the agreement, VinFast owners will enjoy exclusive access to free charging at these stations, easing concerns over range and convenience.
The automaker also provides additional benefits to Philippine buyers, including up to 10 years or 200,000 kilometers of warranty coverage for both vehicle and battery, as well as nationwide service support.
The program complements government incentives under the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act, which exempts EVs from excise tax and offers perks such as priority registration and green lane access.
Industry analysts expect the combined incentives from both government and private sector to accelerate EV adoption, while also supporting the Philippines’ efforts to cut carbon emissions from transportation.
