MOBILITY | GAC launches GS4 Max HEV in the Philippines
The GS4 Max HEV uses a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle hybrid engine, a two-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) and a 2.1-kilowatt-hour nickel cobalt manganese battery.
GAC Motor has launched the GS4 Max HEV in the Philippines, adding a hybrid SUV to its local lineup with an introductory price of P1.218 million and a claimed driving range of up to 1,250 kilometers.
The GS4 Max HEV uses a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle hybrid engine, a two-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) and a 2.1-kilowatt-hour nickel cobalt manganese battery. Its hybrid system can operate in Pure Electric, Hybrid, Direct Engine Drive and Energy Recuperation modes.
The powertrain produces a combined 232 horsepower and maximum motor torque of 300 newton-meters, according to GAC.
The SUV has a 2,750-millimeter wheelbase and 1,901-mm-wide body. Its interior includes a panoramic glass roof with an electric sunshade, rear passenger air vents, acoustic insulation and second-row seats that fold flat to create a larger cargo area.
Safety features include a high-strength steel body structure, dual front airbags, front-side airbags, second-row side airbags and side curtain airbags.
The GS4 Max HEV also comes with a Level 2 driver-assistance suite that includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, traffic jam assist, lane keep assist, lane departure warning and integrated cruise assist. A surround-view camera system is also included.
The SUV has a 10.1-inch touchscreen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 50-watt wireless smartphone charger with a cooling fan.
Reservations are open at GAC dealerships nationwide. The standard retail price is P1.298 million, while the introductory price of P1.218 million, representing P80,000 in savings, applies to reservations made until Sept. 30, 2026.
The GS4 Max HEV is available in Planet Silver, Hoary Grey and Crystal White, with a black interior.
GAC Philippines said it has 30 dealerships nationwide and provides two years of free roadside assistance. The GS4 Max HEV carries a five-year or 150,000-kilometer basic warranty, whichever comes first, while its power battery, driving motor and motor control unit are covered for eight years or 150,000 kilometers.
